Jim Bob McEwen, who has been to all but two of the city’s yearly celebrations of its Scottish heritage, has been breeding and raising border collies for more than 50 years at his farm in Dunkirk, Ind.
Even though his herding dogs were not performing late Saturday morning, crowds of families gathered around his trailer to take a look at the two pups on their first venture off the farm.
Born about six weeks ago, the puppies had been sold before they came into the world, but McEwen happily brought the animals from their pen to let children and adults hold the calm, curious animals.
