Cooper City, Florida – Purebred Breeders, a network of reputable and trustworthy dog breeders, has helped Angel Dog Rescue, Inc. this April. Purebred Breeders has donated $500 to the rescue as part of their monthly donation program in their initiative to support our canine companions.

Angel Dog Rescue has been in operation since 2005 and has helped countless dogs in Georgia and Alabama, mostly around Quitman County and Barbour County, as well as the surrounding areas. Their purpose, among providing care and shelter for their dogs, has been in education and action for humane treatment of animals and pet overpopulation.

The rescue had a fairytale start, taking their name after a true canine hero. According to them, an abandoned Redbone Coonhound in Georgetown, GA, took care of other abandoned puppies. They named her Angel Dog because she guided the puppies, helped them find food, and stood aside while they ate. She carried on with her ministering until she was too sick to move, and then went into hiding. In honor of the pooch, the rescue took on her name.

As for the donation, it will be used at Angel Dog Rescue’s discretion, which could include, but is not limited to, vet costs that include vaccinations, treatments for diseases or injuries, as well as for spaying or neutering their animals.

Purebred Breeders’ donation program’s spokesperson, Jeff Hill, commented on the importance of rescues like these. “Between 5 and 7 million animals are abandoned to shelters each year, most of which are barely making ends meet. This is why supporting shelters is so important, so that there are places for these pets to go to while awaiting their next home.”
